The development of Frank’s English
Chapter 1:
At the beginning:
Frank gets a six in the English exam. He´s not able to speak or understand anything in English.

Chapter 2:
In the garage of the crooks:
Frank’s English isn’t good. He understands just a few things they talk about. He still thinks in German.
Chapter 3:
He understands Smitty and Fats. We don’t know how his English is because he doesn't speak.
Chapter 4:
At the filling station:
He speaks with the man at the filling station. We don’t know what they talk about. He can´t hear what Smitty and Fats talk about.
Chapter 5:
On the truck:
On the truck, he meets Linda and talks with her. He understands a lot and Linda helps him with his English.
Chapter 6:
In Martha's house: 
Frank’s English is better now. He understands everything. He thinks in English now.
Chapter 7:
He talks with a woman and asks her where the police station is. He understands everything she says. His English is very good now.
Chapter 8:
He´s at Aunt Trudy´s house now. And his English is perfect. He talks English to his Aunt and to Linda on the phone.
Back at school:
His English is very good everybody is surprised about him.

His English teacher Frau Peters is also very surprised about him and she has tears in the eyes because Frank speaks a really perfect English.
